Here’s a little bit about Emma, and a pretty picture too!

Author Bio: By day, Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to a terrible two year old. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of wine and writes books.
She likes to write about magic, kisses and whatever else she can fit into the story. Sarcastic, witty characters are a must. As are hot guys. She has two new series planned as well as her New Adult Romance, Never Forget, due February 2013. She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes.
Her debut YA series, The Mauve Legacy, is an Apple iBooks Bestseller - and this makes Emma excited
.

Synopsis:
    A city girl.
A small town boy.
A summer they'll never forget.
Spending the summer at her Grammy's in Lilac Bay, Devon, is city girl Alexis 'Lexy' Edwards idea of hell. That is, until she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jen, and meets Alec Johnson.
Alec is the kind of guy Lexy knows she needs to stay away from. He's the village flirt, ridiculously hot and very dangerous to her self control. But there's a problem – she can't seem to keep him out, even though she knows he'll break her heart.

As Alec slowly strips away Lexy's defences and the two embark on a summer romance she never wanted, their feelings grow to more than either expected. But nothing lasts forever, and reality intrudes.
As her world is shaken to it's core, Lexy's self made prediction comes true when she discovers she's spent six weeks surrounded by secrets. Kept out by her family and the only guy she's ever trusted, she falls apart.
And when Grammy tells her that 'you might not end up where you wanted to be, but you'll always end up where you're meant to be,' she has to figure out if her meant to be is back home in London, or if it's been in Devon the whole time.

Here’s a little sneak peak to get all your palates salivating ;)

"Who said I was flirting?" He asks innocently, but the gleam in his eye tells me he knows I've called him out.
And he likes it.
"Your eyes say it," I reply, "it's glaringly obvious."
He leans back on his elbows and I get a good view of his body.
I try not to look, but when faced with such beauty it's hard not to look, right?
I can see the contour of every muscle, every little shadow where one defined bit meets the next. I sweep my eyes over him involuntarily, from the broadness of his shoulders to his pecs, to his perfectly formed 6 pack and then the obvious 'v' that disappears under the bottom of his wetsuit. Add to the image little droplets of water pearling against his skin...
"Like what you see?" He winks again.
"About as much as I like vomiting after too many drinks on a Saturday night." I quip.
"It's okay, Lexy, I don't mind you looking. You can touch if you want." The challenge is in his eyes and I look upwards as if anyone up there could help me.
Which is silly, because clouds can't help.
"I'm not a touchy person, but thanks for offering."
"See that's a shame," he says in a lower, more sensual voice. "Because I am."
He runs his finger down my spine and I shiver, then curse myself.
"Like that, huh?"
"I'm ticklish?" I answer, but it comes out as more of a question.
He roams his eyes over my body shamelessly. "I bet you're ticklish in all sorts of places."

And here’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Drum roll please!

Ten Tiny Breaths by: K.A. Tucker

Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.
Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.
But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

I started reading TTB last night, figuring after spending a day moving furniture and cleaning that it was time to relax and read for a little bit.... next thing I knew, TTB sucked me in to where I was damning the clock and K for writing such a great book.  At 4am, with watery eyes and a breath caught in my throat, I finally finished it. *big sigh*

'Nothing but ten tiny breaths holds the rest of me together.'

So, where to start.  Kathleen has found the ever difficult, and sometimes impossible, way to make the characters real. Not in the sense that I just met them (which would be awesome, but fictional characters seldom jump out of books), but rather in the sense that they could be anyone. The emotional depth and damage to ALL the characters is truly astounding.  There aren't any throw away characters, easily dismissible and forgotten until they pop back up.  Each character in the book has a purpose and a tie to each other, even the secondary characters.  It's rather easy, and frightening, to picture people I know who have had similar trauma go through what Kacey did, and ultimately break.

I find myself at a rare loss of words when it comes to how I felt while reading TTB. Normally, I could go all day talking about books, but for some reason, the magnitude of TTB and the emotional vortex it sent me through, with layers upon layers of ragged, broken pieces of emotion, has left me somewhat stupefied.  The scenes in the book keep running through my head, constantly haunting me to the point where I dreamed about them last night.  With the morning light, my first thoughts were of the book, but my kids needing breakfast and my schedule for today is the only reason I haven't yet jumped back in to re-read TTB.

I cant recommend this book enough. All I can say is that this book is one of the few that gets into my 'will read until I die' category, forever by my side and thoroughly thumbed through until the spine breaks and I need a new copy.

Until next time, Happy Reading.

Down To You by: Michelle Leighton

The scorching tale of one girl and two brothers in a love triangle...that's not.

Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She's just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She's determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it's clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white.

But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They're brothers. Twins.

Cash is everything she's always wanted in a guy. He's a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he's no good for her.

Nash is everything she's ever needed in a guy. He's successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he's taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv's rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn't stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it's too late to run. Olivia's already involved. And in love. With both of them.

Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire.

She wants them both.

And they want her.

How will she ever choose between them?

Okay, so I finally got to read Down To You, and I have to say I'm ecstatic that I finally got around to it.  The witty dialogue and pure spunk of the characters had me laughing almost as much as my favorite book, Improper English, and that's saying a lot.  While most of the time while I'm reading, you'll see either a glimmer of tears or a smirk pop up on my face, its rather hard for a book to break enough through my shell to cause me to have an actual visual reaction.  Well, be proud Michelle, you had me laughing til my sides hurt!

"Are you all right?"
I'm discombobulated.  "I'm just glad I didn't pee all over myself," I blurt.  I see his mouth drop open a tiny bit and I feel my cheeks go up in flames.

I figured the story line would be the usual, good girl has history with bad boys, falls for new bad boy, but somehow manages to change him.  A good, well used story line.  But, Michelle threw an outrageous twist on it, and I mean an enormous, what-the-ef twist.  One that I'm still partially in shock over.  It made me happy, yet mad at the same time.  Happy, because it solved one of Olivia's biggest problems.  Mad because it threw a different light onto the story and caused my anxiousness to amp up waaay to much to where I snapped at my boyfriend for interrupting me.... (sorry Jeremy, still love you ;) )..... so I'm currently grounded from reading for a day :( I blame you Michelle (but the story was worth it).

It's just like Marissa to jump right in with the heavy artillery, like guilt and extortion.
I'm so proud to be related to the devil's mistress.

Now, lets talk about the completely drool worthy aspect, Cash/Nash.  Oh my flipping monkeys, if there was ever a character I would break up with my boyfriend for, Cash/Nash would be it.  The mystery, wounded bad boy appeal, intelligence, sexuality and body to die for.... woooooo child, you had me panting over that one ;)

"You are such a piece of shit," I yell into the quiet cab, slapping the horn accidentally.  It makes a sound like a wounded duck.  "Don't you talk back to me! You're this close to going to car heaven at the junk yard."

The only part of this book I had an issue with, was the ending.  I know, it can kill a book, but I'm glad it didn't kill Down To You, even if it was a let down.  The entire book was filled with so much spunk and was such a quick read that when I got to the ending I wasn't read for the slow, 'awe how sweet' happy ending.  I wanted the book to end with more of a bang between the characters (pun not intended).  While it was sweet and a happy 'yay I'm glad they're together' moment, it just wasn't in sync with the writing in the previous parts.  The epilogue made up for it some, with the threat of danger and 'oh shit' moments to come, but it was still a let down.

Still, I loved the characters, and am anxious to read the next book to come out!  Down To You is not for young adults, way too many hot sex scenes in it for you kiddies, you can read it when you're older ;)
